Southern provinces accelerate implementation of Resolution No.57, determined to make breakthroughs from science and technology
In the context of the Politburo issuing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation on December 22, 2024, major cities, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Soc Trang province have actively implemented specific action programs to turn the contents of the resolution into a driving force for sustainable development.

Ho Chi Minh City, as a center of science, technology and education, aims to become the country's leading digital technology center by 2030, while aiming for 50% of GRDP from the digital economy by 2045. The city focuses on developing high-tech centers, digital infrastructure and international cooperation, while promoting innovation, towards a technology- and knowledge-based economy.

Similarly, Can Tho has built a technology infrastructure system, such as a startup center, smart city and plans to organize a digital technology event in 2025, to promote digital transformation in the government, businesses and the community. The city also sets a goal of improving online public services, reaching a rate of more than 80% of full-process online services by the end of the year, along with upgrading digital platforms to facilitate civil and administrative services. Can Tho focuses on cooperation to improve technological capacity to meet the requirements of automation and standardization of digital platforms for urban development and public services.

Meanwhile, Soc Trang, through Program No. 67-CT/TU, focuses on developing technological infrastructure, improving the capacity of science and innovation centers, and promoting digital community models, such as the network of digital technology groups and issuing criminal records through the VNeID application. The province aims to build a safe and sustainable digital economic environment, promote innovation, and contribute to improving the competitiveness and sustainable development of the locality. These efforts clearly demonstrate the determination of both the government and the community to realize the goals of the resolution, making science and digital transformation the main driving force of national development in the new era.
