Green economic development strategy towards sustainable economic growth in Can Tho city: current situation and solutions
In the afternoon of March 14, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City held a meeting of the Council for selecting organizations and individuals to preside over the social science project: "Green economic development strategy towards sustainable economic growth in Can Tho City: current situation and solutions". The Council Chairman is Dr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of the Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology. The study will be carried out by Dr. Mai Thanh Huyen, organized and chaired by the University of Commerce.
Overview of the meeting
The project aims to analyze the current situation and identify the limitations and causes affecting green economic development in Can Tho, thereby proposing solutions to promote the sustainable development model to 2030, with a vision to 2050.
The objective of the project is to synthesize theoretical foundations, build a research framework on green economic development, analyze actual results, strengths, weaknesses and causes, and propose appropriate solutions and action plans to improve the city's capacity for sustainable economic development. The project aims to build a practical model to serve the goal of green growth, support policy decisions and promote the long-term sustainable development of Can Tho City.
After the presentation of the board of directors, the council contributed comments to improve the research quality and practical significance of the topic. The comments focused on perfecting the contents, methods and feasibility of the proposed solutions, contributing to helping the project achieve its set goals, in line with the situation and development strategy of the city in the coming period.
