In the afternoon of March 14, the Party Committee of Can Tho City People's Committee held a conference to announce the decision of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on adding 10 new members to the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and holding the position of Secretary of the City People's Committee Party Committee for the term of 2020-2025.

In which, comrade Truong Canh Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, was appointed to join the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee, holding the position of Secretary of the Party Committee.

At the conference, decisions to establish party cells and affiliated party committees were also announced. The party organizations include: Party Cell of the City People's Committee Party Committee with 13 party members, with comrade Nguyen Minh Tam as Secretary; Party Cell of the Department of Finance with 99 party members, with comrade Le Thanh Tam as Secretary; Party Cell of the Department of Construction with 313 party members, with comrade Le Tien Dung as Secretary; Party Cell of the Department of Science and Technology with 153 party members, with comrade Ngo Anh Tin as Secretary; Party Cell of the Department of Home Affairs with 142 party members, with comrade Chau Viet Tha as Secretary; Party Cell of the Department of Agriculture and Environment with 375 party members, with comrade Tran Phu Loc Thanh as Secretary; and Party Cell of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions with 29 party members, with comrade Le Trung Kien as Secretary.
