Selection of science and technology project: "Research on processing value-added products from sea shrimp"
In the morning of May 15, 2025, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology held a meeting of the Council for selecting organizations and individuals to preside over the implementation of a city-level scientific research task "Research on processing value-added products from sea shrimp (Acetes sp.)".

The project will be carried out by MSc. Duong Tu Lien, with the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technology Incubator as an implementing unit. The meeting was attended by department leaders, experts in aquaculture, food processing, biotechnology and related organizations, to review the feasibility of the project and give comments on editing and perfecting the content.

The project focuses on developing optimal technological processes for processing products from sea shrimp, such as protein solution, seasoning powder, concentrated water and shrimp patties, in order to increase the economic value of this raw material. The expected completed processes will ensure safety and quality according to national standards, helping to maximize the nutritional potential of shrimp, while reducing the pressure on exploitation of high-value aquatic species. Developing these products will not only improve the efficiency of exploiting local raw materials but also open up new directions, promoting the sustainable development of the seafood processing industry.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee listened to the comments and suggestions of the council members and experts to improve the content of the project, improve the feasibility and effectiveness of practical application. The revisions and additions will help the project to be more suitable to practical requirements, contribute to the effective exploitation of marine shrimp resources, reduce overexploitation of other aquatic resources, thereby promoting the local economy and sustainable development of the fisheries industry.
