Mid-term review of the social science project "Solutions to improve the governance and public administration capacity of Can Tho City Government"
In the morning of May 16, 2025, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology held a mid-term review meeting of the social science project “Solutions to improve governance and public administration capacity of Can Tho City Government,” presided by Dr. Ngo Anh Tin Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology. The study has been being carring out by MSc. Vo Minh Canh. The Institute of Economics and Society of Can Tho City is an inplementation unit.

The project aims to synthesize the current status of governance and public administration capacity of the city government through the PAPI index, thereby proposing feasible solutions to improve the effectiveness of state management to meet new development requirements.

Overview of the meeting

The research content includes an overview of governance and public administration performance; analysis and evaluation of Can Tho's PAPI index results from 2014-2023; identification of limitations in the city's governance capacity; and proposed improvement solutions, such as smart urban development, anti-corruption, and increased citizen participation in government management.

The Council acknowledged the efforts of the research team and suggested that the project should be completed and improved to ensure progress, aiming for results of high practical value for state management and the development of Can Tho. The comments aim to support the project team to continue to organize effective research, contributing to the development of the city in a more modern and sustainable direction in the future.
