Construction of the National Exhibition and Fair Center must be basically completed by July
The Government Office has just issued Notice No. 248/TB-VPCP dated May 22, 2025 on the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the inspection trip to the construction progress of the National Exhibition and Fair Center.

According to the Announcement, after only 9 months of construction, the shape of the National Exhibition Center with international scale and modernity has gradually taken shape, shortening the construction time compared to the original plan.

The National Exhibition Center is a symbolic project of the country and the capital Hanoi on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), with the long-term goal of: (i) Forming a world-class Exhibition Center, demonstrating the national stature and growth of the country in terms of scale, architecture, modernity, art, landscape, and a symbolic project in terms of strength, architectural culture, landscape, environment, and governance;

(ii) Ensure enough space to exhibit the achievements of ministries, departments, agencies, organizations, and localities over the past 80 years; the space must be calculated to show the longitudinal cross-section of 80 years, the transverse cross-section of each period; worthy of the heroic historical tradition of the nation over the past 80 years and the efforts to overcome difficulties of our country after 40 years of renovation, especially the very difficult past years;

iii) Long-term development to become a place connecting the culture and history of Co Loa, the historical traditions of this area, creating a complex of culture, art, history, and cultural traditions of the capital Hanoi and our nation;

(iv) Promote the development of cultural industry, especially entertainment industry, exploit all space, create conditions for artists to have space to perform, demonstrate their talents, converge and spread the quintessence of national culture with the spirit of internationalizing national cultural identity abroad and at the same time nationalizing human civilization, harmoniously combining human civilization with national culture and identity, so that people can enjoy culture, so that cultural industry and entertainment industry become key economic sectors, supporting tourism development;

(v) Forming tourism products of sufficient caliber, making international friends proud, contributing to enhancing the role and position of Vietnam in the international arena, promoting the image of our country in the process of rapid and sustainable development; (vi) People must enjoy the achievements of our country after 80 years, especially in culture and art.

To achieve the above goals, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, agencies, localities and the Steering Committee, based on their functions, tasks, powers and responsibilities, to be highly determined, make great efforts and take drastic actions to continue to synchronously and effectively implement tasks and solutions.

In particular, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, agencies, localities and Vingroup Corporation to urgently speed up the progress, from now until July 2025, the construction must be basically completed; the inauguration of the National Exhibition Fair Center will be held on August 19, 2025; the time to organize the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day will be from August 28, 2025 to September 6, 2025 (inauguration and display to open the Exhibition on August 28, 2025).

Vingroup Corporation is speeding up the completion of the main items of the National Exhibition and Fair Center while simultaneously completing the auxiliary works, landscape, services, and accompanying utilities (food, beverage, entertainment, auxiliary services, etc.) to serve the people and visitors to the exhibition (completed before June 30, 2025 for display in July and inauguration in August).

The Prime Minister requested the Hanoi People's Committee, based on its functions, tasks, and authority, to invest and allocate a portion of the budget to synchronously complete the construction infrastructure of traffic, electricity, water, fire prevention and fighting, telecommunications and other infrastructures connecting to areas outside the National Exhibition Center, ensuring a bright, green, clean, and beautiful landscape to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.
