Conference to discuss the organizational arrangement of the Department of Science and Technology when merging Can Tho City, Soc Trang Province, and Hau Giang Province
In the afternoon of May 29, 2025, leaders of Departments of Science and Technology of Can Tho City and Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces had a meeting to discuss plans to rearrange and reorganize the apparatus of the Department of Science and Technology after merging and consolidating the areas of these three localities.

Attending the conference, there were Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City; Mr. Nguyen Huynh Phuoc - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hau Giang Province; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duy - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Soc Trang Province and many leaders, officers and employees of these departments.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and propose effective organizational plans suitable for the new situation, while emphasizing the requirement to reduce staff and improve the quality of cadres, civil servants and public employees to maintain effective state management in the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the new locality.

During the discussion, delegates presented many practical ideas related to the arrangement and assignment of accommodation, offices, staff organization and updating legal regulations in accordance with the new apparatus. These contents aim to ensure scientific, effective, cost-saving operation and maintain consensus and stability within the units. At the same time, restructuring the apparatus in a streamlined and modern direction not only helps to maximize the exploitation of common resources, but also creates conditions to promote the socio-economic development of the region, while adapting to the general development trend of the times.

From there, the parties agreed to continue to maintain a close coordination mechanism, regularly exchange information, to deploy the arrangement process scientifically, on schedule and appropriately for each locality, towards building a modern and effective state management system on science and technology, meeting the requirements of the new period.
