Ministry of Science and Technology announced list of 21 major problems in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation
The Ministry of Science and Technology has just officially announced the List of major problems in science, technology, innovation and transformation. This is a concrete step, demonstrating the determination of the Ministry of Science and Technology in implementing Resolution No.57-NQ/TW, which clearly defines the pivotal role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in national development.

The list includes 21 key problems in many key areas, carefully selected with the goal of solving major practical challenges, while creating leverage for Vietnamese technology enterprises to break through.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, these problems not only aim to promote digital transformation and innovation, but also contribute to building an advanced technology platform.

The problems focus on strategic technology areas, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), biotechnology, blockchain technology, new generation telecommunications technology (5G, 6G), semiconductor chips, big data, space technology, and etc. Each problem is closely linked to practical needs, national strategic orientation and has high feasibility in implementation.

In particular, among them are problems, such as building a national biological data platform integrating artificial intelligence to serve research, development and commercialization of biotechnology products in Vietnam; developing digital platforms and smart sensors to serve sustainable aquaculture; researching and manufacturing advanced 5G equipment along with core network ecosystems and transmission networks for 5G; researching and manufacturing 6G equipment; building a small-scale, high-tech semiconductor chip manufacturing factory to serve research, training, design, trial manufacturing, technology verification and production of specialized semiconductor chips in Vietnam.

In addition, many problems also focus on researching, producing and manufacturing low-altitude satellites; building virtual assistants to support civil servants and public employees; developing Make in Vietnam artificial intelligence models; building a semiconductor chip manufacturing factory; building and deploying a Vietnamese blockchain service network; investing in an 80MW cloud computing center owned by Vietnam; building a system for exploiting, analyzing and mapping industrial property to serve national technology development and innovation.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the major problems announced are not only development orientations, but also assign specific tasks to domestic digital technology enterprises. This is an invitation and also a golden opportunity for Vietnamese technology enterprises to participate deeply in the process of creating the country's digital future.

Agencies and units under the Ministry will preside over, closely coordinate, support information, expertise and connect relevant parties to ensure the implementation of the big problem is effective and practical. This approach not only helps businesses approach practical issues but also promotes the formation and development of "Make in Vietnam" products and solutions, serving the domestic market and reaching out to the world.
