Standard Conformity Announcement: A Platform for Building Consumer Trust
In today’s context of increasing demands for transparency in product quality, standards play a central role in improving product and service quality, ensuring consumer safety, and driving business growth.
According to the amended Law on Standards and Technical Regulations (2025), a standard is defined as a set of technical specifications and management requirements used as a benchmark for classifying and evaluating products, goods, services, processes, environments, and other entities in socio-economic activities. Standards are published by organizations or agencies in written form and applied voluntarily.
A standard conformity announcement refers to the act of organizations or individuals declaring that their products, services, or processes comply with relevant standards. In other words, it is a proactive step by businesses to establish benchmarks for their offerings and commit to adhering to them.

Experts emphasize that conformity announcements carry significant practical value. First, they serve as a transparent and credible tool for businesses to affirm product quality. When a product is declared compliant with specific standards (such as national standards TCVN or international standards ISO), consumers and partners can more easily recognize and trust it.
At the same time, conformity announcements reflect a company’s responsibility to society. Beyond compliance with regulations, businesses voluntarily choose standards to apply, thereby contributing to raising the overall quality level of the market. This is particularly crucial in the era of global integration, where technical barriers are increasingly stringent and requirements for traceability and transparency have become inevitable trends.
Six Principles of Standard Conformity Announcements
Decree 22/2026/NĐ-CP, which provides detailed guidance on implementing the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations, outlines six key principles for conformity announcements:
- Conformity announcements are voluntary activities.
- Organizations and individuals have the right to select and list the standards applied to their products, goods, services, processes, environments, or other socio-economic entities in their announcement.
- The person responsible for the product, service, or process must sign the conformity announcement.
- The announcement must be submitted to the National Database on Standards, Measurement, and Quality. If the database is unavailable or infrastructure is incomplete, submissions can be made directly or via postal services.
- Organizations and individuals bear full responsibility for the content of their conformity announcement.
- Organizations and individuals must retain all technical documents related to the products, services, or processes declared compliant and provide them upon request.
