Hwacom Group Seeks Cooperation with Can Tho City to Develop Smart Transportation
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh stated that the city hopes, through the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association as the coordinating body, Can Tho and Hwacom Group will continue to hold working sessions to review, research, and identify solutions that can be applied to the city’s transportation system.

On April 24, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Standing Deputy Head of Can Tho’s Steering Committee on Science and Technology Development, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, met with a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association. The meeting focused on implementing tasks related to science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and introducing smart transportation infrastructure solutions.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Steering Committee, presented a commemorative gift to the delegation.

At the session, Can Tho representatives provided an overview of the city’s progress in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation. In recent years, the city has invested in urban transportation systems, gradually improving infrastructure. However, multimodal transport connectivity remains inconsistent, leading to high logistics costs.

The city currently lacks smart traffic management tools, meaning congestion is still handled manually and reactively. This approach has not addressed the root causes of overload at urban gateways and key intersections during peak hours.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Steering Committee, delivered a speech at the working session.

With the aim of supporting Can Tho in promoting science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association and Hwacom Group shared smart transportation solutions based on their experience in Taiwan. They proposed practical applications for Can Tho, including highway management systems, connected vehicle technology (CV2X), and adaptive traffic signals. These solutions are ready to be integrated into the modernization of urban and national transportation infrastructure.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh emphasized that the areas presented by the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association and Hwacom Group are of great interest to Can Tho. The city hopes to continue working closely with Hwacom, through the Informatics Association, to review and research solutions that can be applied to real-world traffic management in the city.
