Focus on deploying strategic technologies and priority products
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam has initially formed the foundational elements for the development of strategic technologies, including an initial institutional framework; a list of strategic technologies and products; several enterprises with core technological capabilities; an increasing trend in intellectual property; and a system of technical standards and regulations that are gradually being perfected to guide development.

Specifically, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology is investing in the Vietnam Space Center Project with a total investment of nearly 7,320 billion VND. Viettel Group has started construction of the first semiconductor chip manufacturing plant in Vietnam with a total investment of approximately 33 billion VND from the state budget. In the field of artificial intelligence (AI), large enterprises such as FPT, Viettel, VNPT, CMC, and Zalo have invested a total of 4,208 GPUs, initially forming a computing infrastructure to serve AI research and development in the country.
Some domestic businesses have begun to master core technologies and develop strategic technology products. For example, Viettel Group has mastered cruise missiles and approximately 85% of the core technologies for 5G networks, ready for commercialization. UAV development companies such as Realtime Robotics, Viettel, and CT Group have mastered over 70% of the core technologies, have invested in manufacturing plants in Vietnam, and have begun exporting to the United States.
For businesses in the Industry and Trade sector, digital technologies (AI, digital mirroring, VR/AR, robotics, automation, cloud computing, big data, etc.) are being implemented in production and business by large corporations such as EVN, PVN, and many other enterprises, initially yielding promising test results.
