Attendees included representatives from city departments and agencies, universities, and the event's organizing committee, comprising the Saigon Times Foundation (STF), the Innovation Service Center (ISC), and the STEAMZone Education Center.

During the meeting, representatives from the Organizing Committee provided an overview of Vietnam Space Week 2026 – a non-profit science and technology education program aimed at inspiring, guiding career paths, and developing STEM human resources for students.

According to the proposal, the event is expected to take place over two days (May 27-28, 2026) with many diverse activities such as: awarding scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds; interacting with astronauts and international experts; organizing a STEM festival with hands-on activities in robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and virtual reality (VR/AR); exhibiting educational technology; and various interactive and inspirational programs for young people.

In particular, the program is expected to include the participation of former astronauts and international experts, thereby providing opportunities to access advanced scientific knowledge and contributing to the strong spread of the spirit of learning and exploration among the younger generation.

During the working session, representatives from various departments and agencies focused on discussing coordination in organizing the event; mobilizing students to participate; ensuring facilities, security, and communication; and affirming the practical significance of the event for developing high-quality human resources in the city.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Van Khoi highly appreciated and basically agreed with the plan to organize Vietnam Space Week 2026 in Can Tho; he also emphasized that this is a practical activity in igniting a passion for science, promoting innovation and creativity, and strengthening international integration for students in the city.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to take the lead, in coordination with relevant units and the Organizing Committee, in further refining the detailed plan; reviewing the content and script of the program, ensuring it is practical, effective, and suitable to the actual conditions of the locality.

At the same time, departments and agencies are requested to proactively coordinate and support the organization, logistics, and communication; mobilize the participation of educational institutions, contributing to the widespread dissemination of the event's significance. The organization must ensure safety, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency, while also contributing to promoting the image of Can Tho City as a dynamic, innovative city to domestic and international friends.
