Continuing to strengthen institutional reform, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) is creating a crucial impetus for the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, with many concrete results in April 2026, contributing to enhancing national competitiveness and position.
On the afternoon of April 29, 2026, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology held its regular monthly press conference for April, attended by representatives from affiliated units and numerous journalists. Information presented at the press conference indicated that the development and improvement of institutional frameworks continued to be a highlight of the month. The Ministry of Science and Technology advised the Government to issue 4 Decrees, submitted 6 Decisions to the Prime Minister for issuance, and issued 13 Circulars within its authority.
Along with institutional improvements, research and application of science and technology continue to see many positive developments. Many science and technology projects have been implemented and put into practice, contributing to improving productivity, the quality of growth, and the competitiveness of the economy.
The Ministry is also developing a list of strategic technologies and products, and a plan for the efficient exploitation and use of national outer space, focusing on areas with the potential for breakthroughs such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology, materials, and new energy.

In the coming period, the Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to focus on implementing key tasks to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, especially building a specific mechanism for strategic technologies, a mechanism for the State to order and purchase first-generation products, a controlled testing mechanism (sandbox), and finalizing important draft laws.
