Samsung Partners with NIC to Promote STEM in Vietnam for the First Time

At the launch of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 on the morning of April 11 in Hanoi, Mr. Na Ki Hong, CEO of Samsung Vietnam, noted that technology is opening “unprecedented” opportunities and that the future will be led by those who understand technology and contribute to society and the community through it.

Referring to the organization of Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) in Vietnam over the past years, Mr. Na Ki Hong stated that the program has encouraged the development of practical solutions to address social and community issues while promoting STEM education. Through this, students’ creative ideas can be realized, forming technology projects that contribute to society.

Mr. Na Ki Hong – CEO of Samsung Vietnam, speaking at the event

“I believe that the breakthrough in knowledge and innovative capacity of today’s students will be the launchpad for Vietnam’s future. I am also very proud that Samsung Vietnam can be part of that journey,” said Mr. Na Ki Hong.

In 2026, for the first time, Samsung Vietnam is collaborating with the National Innovation Center to implement this program. Through NIC’s role as a bridge connecting the government, schools, and enterprises, the center not only participates in organizing the competition but also contributes to shaping content, inspiring a spirit of innovation among secondary and high school students.

Notably, with its experience sponsoring, co-organizing numerous large-scale STEM and Robotics competitions in Vietnam and implementing many programs to support startups, training, and developing high-quality human resources over the years, NIC plays an important role in promoting the STEM ecosystem in Vietnam, enabling students to gain early exposure to innovative thinking, new technologies, and real-world societal challenges.

The partnership between Samsung Vietnam and NIC is expected to create a synergistic effect, spreading the STEM learning movement to thousands of schools nationwide, contributing to the implementation of major Party and State policies on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, such as Resolution 71 on breakthroughs in education and training and Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation in Vietnam.

Mr. Lê Tấn Cận – Deputy Minister of Finance, speaking at the event

“The collaboration of these two leading organizations in promoting STEM in Vietnam from 2026 marks an important step, reflecting public-private partnership in developing STEM education in Vietnam,” said Deputy Minister of Finance Lê Tấn Cận.

According to Mr. Lê Tấn Cận, the Ministry of Finance recognizes Samsung not only as a leading investor in high technology but also as a pioneering enterprise supporting Vietnam in developing high-quality human resources. He urged NIC to continue to regard STEM education and youth human resource development as a core mission, consistently working with educational institutions, international organizations, and domestic and foreign enterprises, expanding the scale and improving the quality of training, innovation, and entrepreneurship activities among young people.

Mr. Vũ Quốc Huy, Director of NIC, affirmed the commitment to continue supporting partners, especially Samsung Vietnam, to expand STEM education programs, providing students with access to new technologies, modern learning environments, and comprehensive development opportunities.

Overview of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 will run nationwide from April to October with two competition categories: Category A for secondary school students and Category B for high school students.

Under teacher guidance, teams are encouraged to develop ideas under one of three themes: Sustainable Environment Development through Technology; Combining Sports and Technology to Transform Society (focusing on education and future development); and Applying Technology to Develop a Sustainable Society. Beyond written ideas, the program sets out requirements and a roadmap to turn initiatives into practical solutions applicable locally, addressing specific challenges faced by communities.

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 not only awards attractive prizes to high-performing teams but also provides practical support in facilities for schools with winning teams.

Specifically, schools with first-place teams in each category will receive a STEM Lab classroom sponsored by Samsung, valued at USD 60,000 per school. Schools with second-place teams in each category will be equipped with interactive smart boards. Additionally, the program recognizes and awards provinces, cities, and schools with the highest rates of online student participation, encouraging wide dissemination of learning and innovative spirit.
