Opening of the Social Sciences Achievements Exhibition Area “Strong Foundations – Bright Future”
On the morning of April 6, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences inaugurated the exhibition area showcasing research achievements under the theme “Strong Foundations – Bright Future,” co-organized by the Institute of Philosophy and the Institute of State and Law.

The exhibition takes place from April 6 to May 10, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, No. 1A Lieu Giai, Ngoc Ha Ward, Hanoi, aiming to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and the 140th anniversary of International Workers’ Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026).
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, emphasized that in the flow of national and human history, knowledge in social sciences and humanities has always been crystallized from landmark ideological and revolutionary milestones of the era.
Especially, in the context of commemorating the birth anniversaries of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin, this is an opportunity to review the formation and development of Marxism–Leninism, a scientific, revolutionary, and pioneering theoretical system of the era.
According to Prof. Dr. Le Van Loi, Marxism–Leninism not only points out the path to liberate the working class from oppression and exploitation but also opens up real possibilities for comprehensive human development. This doctrine is also closely associated with the aspiration for independence and freedom of nations, including Vietnam. With a vision ahead of its time, Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam creatively applied Marxism–Leninism to practice, leading the Vietnamese revolution from one victory to another.

In the atmosphere of the whole country heading toward major national holidays, ideological and revolutionary values continue to be deeply affirmed in current development practices, reflected in the steadfast pursuit of national independence associated with socialism, economic development alongside social progress and equity, and placing people at the center of development.
The exhibition area “Strong Foundations – Bright Future” is designed as an open academic space where scientific achievements are restructured and interpreted through a modern, highly interactive approach. Here, knowledge goes beyond research works to become experiential, connecting academia with life, research with practice, and Vietnam with the world.
Within this framework, philosophy and legal studies are identified as two foundational pillars. Philosophy plays a role in shaping awareness, establishing value systems, and guiding development thinking; while legal studies translate those values into institutions, ensuring fairness, order, and predictability in social life. The combination of thought and institutions creates a foundation for sustainable development.

A key highlight of the exhibition is the 67-year journey of formation and development of the Institute of Philosophy. From its early days of establishment in 1959 amid wartime conditions, generations of researchers laid the foundation for Vietnamese philosophy while conducting studies on Marxist–Leninist philosophy and the history of Vietnamese thought, directly serving the country’s political and ideological tasks.
During the period 1975–1986, in the context of national reunification and the transition to building socialism, the Institute continued to contribute scientific arguments for development strategies, particularly in preparing the theoretical foundation for the renovation process. From 1986 to the present, research activities have expanded in line with international integration, focusing on clarifying theoretical and practical issues of development, while strengthening policy advisory roles and safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation.
Alongside this is the nearly 60-year development journey of the Institute of State and Law. From initial studies on the socialist state and law, the Institute has gradually affirmed its role in providing scientific arguments for constitution-making and improving the legal system.
Notably, during the renovation period, the Institute has produced many foundational works on the socialist rule-of-law state, judicial reform, and control of state power. These studies have made important contributions to the development and amendment of the 1992 and 2013 Constitutions, as well as many other important laws.
Through the exhibition, the organizers aim to affirm the message: social sciences and humanities are not only academic research fields but also strategic resources that contribute to shaping policies, strengthening institutions, and guiding social awareness in the context of globalization.
This is also an opportunity for the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to express gratitude to generations of scientists who have persistently cultivated the academic foundation with intellect and dedication. The exhibition is expected to become an academic space of lasting value, connecting knowledge communities and serving as a symbol of the research capacity and contributions of Vietnam’s social sciences and humanities in the era of integration.
