Vietnam hosts the ASEAN High-Tech Forum
On April 1, in Hanoi, the Summit Forum “ASEAN – Digital Society, Digital Economy and Green Energy Transition in Vietnam” took place, co-organized by the Vietnam Institute of High-Tech Applications under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the ASEAN Trade and Investment Coordination Center, and the Vietnam Electronics Association.

Dr. Thang Van Phuc, former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, speaks at the forum.

The forum attracted approximately 1,000 delegates, including representatives from governments, business leaders, international organizations, and media from 11 ASEAN countries.

In order to effectively implement Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, Vietnam has repeatedly emphasized the importance of a digital society for national modernization, believing that digital identity, smart governance, cybersecurity, and digital integration are core pillars for building a “humane digital ecosystem.”

Leaders of the “ASEAN Joint Committee for Digital Society Development” commit to action.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Luong Phuong, Chairman of the Board of the Vietnam Institute of High-Tech Applications under the Ministry of Science and Technology, stated that a digital society is not only technological advancement but also a profound transformation of the social development model. Vietnam is accelerating the development of a human-centered digital governance system to ensure that no one is left behind.

The program included three main activities:

High-level forum: Numerous roundtable dialogues and policy workshops were held around three themes “Digital Society, Digital Economy, and Energy Transition” with the participation of Dr. Thang Van Phuc, former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Dr. Nguyen Duc Van, former Senior Specialist of the Government Office, and many experts discussing the key role of policy coordination and talent training in ASEAN’s digital transformation.

Digital economy exhibition area: Featuring ASEAN national booths, digital economy and green energy exhibition zones, and a Vietnam production zone showcasing advanced technology products such as 5G/6G, artificial intelligence, digital payments, smart grids, and electric vehicles.

Technology Gala Night “The Future of Vietnam in the Next 50 Years”: Through creative formats such as 3D projection, AI-generated MC simulation, and digital water puppetry, the gala presented Vietnam’s future vision in transportation, energy, healthcare, education, and other sectors by 2045.

Delegates press the button to launch the digital transformation program during the gala night.

At the forum, the establishment of the “ASEAN Joint Committee for Digital Society Development” was officially announced to coordinate and build cooperative alliances among ASEAN countries in areas such as mutual recognition of digital transformation processes, digital identity, digital society, data governance, smart city development, and digital talent training.

The forum is not only an important technology and policy event but also a strategic statement by Vietnam toward the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.

Through the establishment of the Joint Committee, the issuance of the “Hanoi Alliance Declaration,” and the launch of multiple digital transformation cooperation mechanisms, Vietnam is gradually playing an important role in ASEAN’s digital society and green energy transition.
